Rod Naphan, Vice President of Product and Strategic Planning at Fujitsu, is the architect of Fujitsu?s packet optical networking vision and product portfolio. He and his organization are leading the definition of the next generation of optical networking gear?the Packet Optical Networking Platform.
Rod has broad experience in the design and planning of optical networking equipment. During his 13-year tenure with Fujitsu, he has held various leadership roles in software and systems engineering, and was program manager for FLASHWAVEŽ 4000 MSPP series product development in North America. Prior to joining Fujitsu, he worked as a software engineer within the SONET transmission division at Bell Northern Research.
Rod holds a BSc. in Honors Computing and Computer Electronics from Wilfrid Laurier University, and an MASc. in Systems Design Engineering from the University of Waterloo in Ontario.
