Thomas R. Stanton
CEO, Chairman of the Board
ADTRAN
Thomas R. Stanton joined ADTRAN in 1995 as Vice President of Marketing for the Carrier Networks (CN) Division. In 1999 he was promoted to Vice President and General Manager of the CN Division and in April 2001 was named Senior Vice President and General Manager of the CN Division. Stanton was named CEO in September 2005 and Chairman of the Board in 2007, following the death of founder and chairman Mark Smith.
Before joining ADTRAN, Stanton was the Vice President of Marketing & Engineering at Transcrypt International, and held several senior management positions at E.F. Johnson Company, a leading provider of two-way radios and communications systems. His career also includes sales management, business development, and engineering positions with AmeriCom Corporation. Mr. Stanton holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering from Auburn University.
